Great start to Radical European Masters
Barcelona 3 – 5th April
Nearly thirty Radicals lined up for the inaugural round of the 2009 Radical European Masters. The four car Radical UK Works team dominated both qualifying and the two 45 minute races. With Derek Johnston/Stuart Moseley (SR8) wining both races. The Cameron MacDonald/Nigel Greensall SR8LM came third in the first race and second in the second race. The Alex Kapadia/Jeff Collier SR8LM managed second in race one while the Phil Abbott/Roger Bromiley SR8 finished fourth in race two.
The best performing SR5 was the Speed Factory Racing car of Thomas Meidinger which came a very creditable 6th in race one and 5th in race two.
The KB Motorsport Team of Bassam Kronfli/Christophe Hissette did an amazing job to finish their SR3 1500 in 7th in Race one and 6th in Race two.
When co-drivers Stuart Moseley and Nigel Greensall weren’t putting their Works cars on the podium in the European Masters they were turning in very creditable performances in the Bruichladdich Radical Teams’ SR9 assisting Bruneau Pierre to tenth place overall in the Le Mans Series. Fourth in class and well ahead of many P1 cars including the two Audi R10’s and a couple of Aston Martin Lolas.
The SR9 also won the prestigious Michelin Eco Endurance Award for being the most economical car on the track!
